Ways to Increase Muscle Car Horsepower Using Easy Methods

Most muscle cars were first created to be small, extremely powerful and compact, with most of the large motors present at the time, and in past years, the muscle car design changed in some ways, and the car horsepower has been neglected in favor of aesthetic appeal and sleek design.
Also, depending on your muscle car’s weight, there are many different choices for you if you would love to boost the engine power of your car. Before deciding to change the engine power, it would be wise you confirm the specs of your vehicle with an expert so that you can know and understand the best method of improving your horsepower on your truck. There are three common methods that most people use to enhance the power of their cars.

Method 1: Supercharging

A supercharger is the device used as an air compressor that increases the density of air or the pressure that is supplied to the internal combustion engine. This provides every intake cycle of your engine more oxygen, allowing it to burn more fuel and perform more task, thus increasing the engine power.

Method 2: Change the Engine Controller

Modern vehicles have engine control units which help in regulating certain aspects of the vehicle. The

ECU control how the engine operates. In various cases, even in the muscle cars, the EUC’s settings indicates that the engine focuses mainly on maintaining a great power of fuel and power efficiency.

The specified settings are not ideal for a person wishing to have an improve horsepower from his car. By buying an aftermarket chip, you can change the settings of the engine and aim at delivering power other than maintaining fuel efficiency.

Method 3: Use a Cold Air Intake System

Like the supercharging, the cold air intake system will increase the quantity of oxygen that you use to mix with the fuel in the combustion process. This increases the whole engine power of your car. Cold air intake systems inject cooled air into the engine system, which increases the quantity of fuel that one can use.

And since you have to increase the amount of fuel you use, you should make sure that your fuel filter can handle that amount of fuel. If you decide to use this system, you have to change the kind of gasoline you use in your car.

Whichever the method you chose to increase the muscle car horsepower be sure that your various car parts such as the catalytic converter, fuel filter, and the rest can handle the new engine power of your car. If they cannot, it is recommended you replace your fuel filter and the catalytic converter to match with the new speed of your car.
