Tata Motors TQ 501

Tata Motors has introduced an all-new breed of products (including Hexa, Tigorand Nexon) based on its new IMPACT design philosophy in the recent autoexpo.

The new design and marketing strategy has surely worked in the favour of the carmaker. Aims to further strengthen their market, the home-grown carmaker is working on a couple of new products that will be ready to hit the market in coming years.

While the company will foray into premium hatchback and mid-size sedan segment, it will also expand its SUV lineup with two new products – Q501 (5-seater) and Q502 (7-seater).

Both these SUVs will use modern aluminium infused ‘Q’ platform, which already underpins the Land Rover Discovery Sport. While the Tata Q501 will take on the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson, the Tata Q502 will go up against the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour as per the sources.

The new SUV will also possibly be getting all-wheel-drive straight out at the time of launch and should ideally be getting a set of petrol and diesel engines in order to compete with the likes of the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson along with larger SUVS like the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour.
