Mahindra tie up with ford for passenger Vehicles

A partnership is with works with the Indian auto industry . Ground vehicle major Mahindra and Mahindra is in advanced talks with American automaker Ford to use the the Chennai plant for manufacturing its passenger cars.

“The idea by enabling M&M to get access to the idle capacity at Ford's Chennai plant, something which will be beneficial and profitable  for both the companies.

The Chennai plant has an annual capacity of around 2 lakh cars, and about 1.2 lakh units are being produced. Ford also has a new plant at Sanand in Gujarat. This has a capacity of around 2.4 lakh units which will be  only around 60% as being utilised.
