Now the Honda has finally launched its first compact crossover – the WR-V in India at prices starting from Rs. 7.55 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The WR-V is Honda’s answer to the rising craze of compact crossovers and cross hatches in the Indian market which will be competing against a wide range of products, including the i20 Activ, Cross Polo, Liva Cross, Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSports.
The WR-V is available with a petrol and a diesel engine option, both of which are offered only with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The petrol has displaced 1.2-litre, while the diesel is of 1.5-litre capacity. Presence of an automatic with the petrol model is shocking since Honda has offerd a brilliant CVT with paddle shifters with the same engine on the Jazz, which is essentially the same car, minus some millimeters from the ground clearance and black body cladding.
