Abstract
Considering increasing number of injuries day by day throughout the world with large contribution from vehicle road traffic crashes; the study of various crash scenarios has become of utmost importance. This paper deals with the different crash conditions encountered by passenger cars namely frontal, side, rear impact and rollover condition.
The effect and severity of the impacts on the vehicle as well as occupants are analyzed.
Also the safety systems to prevent or reduce the consequences of crash & methods followed by various agencies for rating the vehicles for their crashworthiness is also discussed in this paper.
